unccd-Land Degradation, Desertification and Climate Change
A new book, Land Degradation, Desertification and Climate Change, which is based on the report prepared for the UNCCD 3rd Scientific Conference, was published by Routledge. The Conference was held from 9-12 in March 2015 in Cancun, Mexico.
The book offers comprehensive synthesis of the links between global climate change and land degradation based on research conducted by Professor Mark Reed, Newcastle University, and Professor Lindsay Stringer of University of Leeds. It calls for a more joined-up approach to tackling land degradation and climate change and closer collaboration between researchers, local communities and international policy-makers to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions.
