The Cameroonian Federation of Associations and Practitioners of Second Timber Processing (FECAPROBOIS) hereby informs the national and international public that it signed a collaboration agreement with the Union of Community Forests of Djoum (UFCD) on 15 November 2017 in the city of Djoum.
The signing of the Agreement demonstrates FECAPROBOIS’ commitment to promote momentum for forest governance initiated by the FLEGT VPA that was signed by the Government of Cameroon and the European Union in 2010, and ratified on 9 August 2011.
Furthermore, this strategic approach spearheaded by FECAPROBOIS shows its willingness to work towards the implementation of the VPA process by setting up a legal framework to address sustainable development challenges by means of a transparent domestic timber market.
