Communiqué from NGOs of the Société Civile Environnementale Du Nord Kivu: We, the Environmental civil society organizations of North Kivu, learned with great sadness of the tragic deaths of the heroes of Humanity’s World Heritage following the drowning of brave Environmental Activists (3 rangers and 1 Observer / TGAL / ENANGA site) which occured on Lake Edouard on February 16, 2017 between KISAKA and MURAMBA. Some of them died fighting to save the PNVi while others perished protecting the most at-risk persons working in environmental protection.
