Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Mr. ldriss Deby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad, Head of State, the high-level segment of the ECCAS Ministers Conference on eco-security, man/wildlife conflict and other land use conflicts in Central Africa was held in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad on 27 July 2017.
The conference was hosted by the Government of the Republic of Chad, in collaboration with the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) through the Central Africa Biodiversity Conservation Programme - Protecting Central Africa’s elephants (PCBAC-SEAC), funded by the African Development Bank (ADB).
The conference received technical support from the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The high-level session was preceded from 25 to 26 July 2017 by the technical segment.

The General Secretariat of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), through the Central Africa Biodiversity Conservation Programme -Protecting elephants of Central Africa (PCBAC-SEAC) with the technical support of WWF and COMIFAC, is hosting a Ministers’ Conference on the security of natural resources, man/wildlife conflict and other land use conflicts, from 25 to 28 July 2017 in N'Djamena.
In line with the African Union’s strategy on the illegal exploitation and illicit trade in wild flora and fauna products, the sub regional Conference falls squarely in line with the Policy Plan in the framework of the implementation of the decisions of the ECCAS Heads of State on the fight against poaching in Central Africa and the adoption of sectoral programs on the development of the Green Economy in Central Africa.
