Statement:

“At a time when the elephant crisis can still be averted, it is essential to take action that empowers local engagement and personal commitment,” explained Lisa Samford, Executive Director of the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. “Our aim is to galvanize the power of media to inspire wonder, catalyze change and move the dial on elephant conservation.”

How to get involved

This global occasion provides the world’s governments, civil society and citizens  a great opportunity to help raise awareness and to take actions in order to be part of the solution to ensuring  wildlife conservation and combating wildlife crimes.

If you’re in need of a little inspiration to determine how you can help to protect wildlife,  here are some examples of what you can do on  World Wildlife Day and how you can help protect wildlife  every day! You can then pass on your ideas to all of your connections.

How can you we celebrate the World Wildlife Day?

We have compiled a sample of the types of WWD activities carried out over the past two years. As you can see, participation and support can be very simple, and it can be as easy as just one click on your computer or mobile phone to help spread the word. You can always do one small thing to join the people around the world to celebrate this special Day on the UN calendar.

1.  Lend your social media voice, speak for the voiceless and help us amplify the message that the future of wildlife is #InOurHands. Take a photo with our social media shout out card and support the #WWD2016 Thunderclap.
