Detailed report of 1st GTGF-COMIFAC Expert Committee meeting now available
Forest governance frameworks in COMIFAC countries, the GTGF-COMIFAC (COMIFAC Forest Governance Working Group) was established to help raise the profile of and capitalize efforts made by COMIFAC Member States, with a view to good forest governance. Specifically, the GTGF aims to:
• reflect on and analyze forest governance issues in Central Africa (carry out status assessments, develop policy briefs or policy guidelines...)
• propose measures for the implementation of solutions identified to address forest governance issues (develop proposed directives, guidelines, benchmarks ...)
• ease sharing of experience and best practices on forest governance in Central Africa (develop methodology guides and procedure manuals...).
Its first meeting was held in Douala from 29 to 30 July 2014 and attracted close to 63 experts (the forestry administration, development partners and civil society) and yielded excellent results. The meeting report and appendix provide details on various segments and findings of this key meeting.
