From Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 December 2018, the Pierre Claver Conference Hall in Kinshasa/Gombe hosted the Stakeholders’ Forum on Sustainable Forest Management and Developing Governance Reforms in the Democratic Republic of the Congo under the aegis of the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development.
The meeting was organized by the DRC National CEFDHAC Forum with the support of the CNCEIB (National Coalition against Illegal Logging) and the pedagogic support of the GTF and the financial support of WWF/NORAD through the Forest Governance Program (FGP).
The Forum was attended by stakeholders of the Forest and Environment Sector, notably delegates of the Forestry Department, national and international civil society, the private sector, local communities and indigenous peoples. The overall aim of the Forum was to help define Sustainable Forest Management strategies and build consensus around the forest sector reforms underway in the DRC.
