WWF commends the French government, which by the public destruction today of an ivory stock seized in France, reiterates its commitment to fighting the illegal trade in wildlife species.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the African Union on 26 May 2013, Mr François Hollande, the President of France, had invited the African Heads of State to Paris on 6 and 7 December 2013 to take part in a "meeting [. ..] dedicated to peace, security and [...] the fight against terrorism.
