EU - Central Africa: European aid to preserve biodiversity and strengthen management of forest ecosystems
The Cameroon component of the "Programme to support the preservation of biodiversity and fragile ecosystems (ECOFAC)" was officially launched on 25 October 2017 in Douala on the sidelines of the 17th Meeting of Parties of the CBFP. For more than 25 years, through the ECOFAC programs, the European Union has been supporting Central Africa’s efforts to preserve its unique biodiversity and manage its forest ecosystems. Hence, since 1992, the EU has invested more than 90 billion CFA francs (138 million euro) in the region over the first 5 phases of the flagship program.
