EAGLE: Back to Back to Back to Action!
After several days of work, Ofir, Luc and I have made significant progress on establishing the EAGLE Network.
We're feeling great about this and we're ready to bring about more arrests and prosecutions across Africa and beyond, like the recent arrests of ivory dealers in Senegal and Benin, and illegal foresters in Togo.
Today PALF also brought about the arrest of 2 leopard skin dealers in Brazzaville, back at home in Congo.
Yesterday, in Gabon, Conservation Justice got a leopard skin dealer arrested too!
The day before, in Cameroon, LAGA got a trafficker arrested with 12 great ape skulls and 150 kg of pangolin scales!
In just a matter of hours, we've recorded a number of attempts to corrupt police authorities (see photo attached)...the uphill struggle: corruption.
While we're making progress, there are still major cases we are losing to impunity and we want to use EAGLE to work together with all of you to put an end to that and stop the illegal killing of Africa's wildlife.
