Please find below the final announcement of the first Sub-regional Pilot Committee meeting for the Conference on Humid and Dense Forest Ecosystems of Central African Rainforests (CEFHDAC) that took place in Bangui from 5 - 7 August 2009. This meeting brought together Presidents of National Fora, Coordinators of pertinent networks of CEFHDAC as well as representatives of actors for development such as GTZ and UICN.

In executing the item 'elections' on the adopted agenda, consensus on the composition of the Steering Committee was reached. It is made up of: M. Louis Roger ESSOLA-ETOA, member of REPAR and President of the National Forum of Cameroon, Mrs Eulalie BASHIGUE, Vice president; Mrs Edwige EYANG EFFA, President of the National Forum of Gabon, Focal point REFADD/Gabon.

After discussions on eight main points such as the autonomous financing mechanism for COMIFAC and the communication of CEFDHAC activities, a road map was developed taking into account the different issues. This road map will be implemented until June 2010 which is the date of the next Sub regional Steering Committee meeting that will probably hold in Kigali (Rwanda).
