bonnchallenge-The Global Partnership on Forest Landscape Restoration
The Bonn Challenge is driven by the Global Partnership on Forest Landscape Restoration, a proactive network that unites governments, organisations, communities and individuals with a common goal: restoring the world's degraded and deforested lands.
The Partnership was initiated, long before the Bonn Challenge was launched, with the purpose of catalyzing and reinforcing a network of diverse examples of restoration of degraded and deforested lands that deliver benefits to local communities and to nature. Now the Partnership and its members are active in every major region of the world, gathering knowledge on restoration, facilitating restoration assessments, and supporting Bonn Challenge commitments.
Through active engagement, collaboration and the sharing of ideas and information the Partnership promotes an integrated forest landscape restoration approach to regaining function in degraded lands, an approach that seeks to ensure that forests, trees and the functions they provide are effectively restored, conserved and employed to help secure sustainable livelihoods and ecological integrity for the future.
