afd.fr : Energy in Africa The RECP programme
As part of the Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) between Africa and the European Union, the AFD backed by EU funding, has embarked on a string of studies seeking to identify key prerequisites for renewable energy development in Africa, based on three main thrusts:
(i) five studies on ENR power fields: wind, solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, small and medium hydropower, bio-power and biofuels;
(ii)an “access” component built on three regional studies on access to electricity (West , East , Central and Southern Africa) and reflection on combustible material and fuels;
(iii) cross-cutting study on funding tools and professional training.
