WWF CARPO: Finally, first anti-poaching mission started in CAR - Sudanese Poachers threats : update 10 February 2013
This mission was mobilized by the National Director of Protected Areas Dzanga-Sangha (APDS).This joint Commission is composed of 50 men in the field, including the Armed Forces (from their bases in Berberati and Nola), policemen and officials of the Ministry of Water and Forest.
Nola in Central Africa - Saturday, February 9th, 2013: A first mission left Nola in Central Africa to fight against the threat posed by the Sudanese armed elephant poachers mentioned in the previous articles hereafter. This mission was mobilized by the National Director of Protected Areas Dzanga-Sangha (APDS).This joint Commission is composed of 50 men in the field, including the Armed Forces (from their bases in Berberati and Nola), policemen and officials of the Ministry of Water and Forest.
Overall coordination of these troops is provided by the Prefect, the Head of Military Region "Area 5" and the National Director of the Protected Areas National Director of Dzanga-Sangha Protected Areas.
WWF congratulate the prefectural authorities and the military detachment of “Zone 5” for coming in support to the authorities of protected areas management Dzanga-Sangha.
