A new member of the great CBFP family: Welcome to VLIR-UOS!!!
Brussels, 06 November 2018; VLIR-UOS has officially joined the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP). As part of the application process, VLIR-UOS has submitted the required documents and agreed to abide by the CBFP members’ cooperation framework in promoting sustainable management of forest ecosystems in Central Africa.
VLIR-UOS supports partnerships between universities and university colleges in Flanders (Belgium) and the South looking for innovative responses to global and local challenges.
VLIR-UOS funds cooperation projects between professors, researchers and teachers, and awards scholarships to students and professionals in Flanders and the South. VLIR-UOS also supports and strengthens higher education in the South as well as global development-based internationalization of higher education in Flanders.
VLIR-UOS is the platform that allows the Flemish higher education system to cooperate towards development and sharing of information and best practices. In addition, in the context of higher education in Flanders, VLIR-UOS is the biggest purveyor of funds for development cooperation projects through the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. VLIR-UOS comprises fourteen Flemish university colleges and six Flemish universities.
VLIR-UOS is part of the Flemish Interuniversity Council and receives funding from the Belgian Development Cooperation.
The Belgian Facilitation of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership is very pleased to welcome its partner, VLIR-UOS as a new CBFP member.
