The sub-regional preparatory meeting of member countries of the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) for the 13th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) took place in Douala (Cameroon) at the Prince de Galles Hotel, on 9 and 10 April 2018, and aimed to formulate a common consensual sub regional position on the topics on the agenda of the UNFF session scheduled to take place from 7 to 11 May 2018 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This meeting took place in the framework of the COMIFAC Forest Governance Working Group.
Hosted by the COMIFAC Executive Secretariat with the financial support of the German cooperation including the KfW through the Program for the Promotion of Certified Forest Logging (PPECF), the meeting drew seventeen participants including the National UNFF Focal Points of the COMIFAC countries, representatives of the national coordinations of Cameroon and Gabon, major technical and financial partners of COMIFAC (GIZ, PPECF/KfW, WWF) and the COMIFAC Executive Secretariat.
