UN-International Mother Earth Day: it's "our turn to lead" says the UN
The power to change begins with each one of us, said the UN Secretary General on Wednesday, April 22, in a message released to mark International Mother Earth Day, celebrated this year under the theme "It's our turn to lead".
"Not everyone is able to make sustainable choices, but for those who can, the simple act of switching to energy-efficient lighting or buying only what you will consume - accumulated across several billion people - can transform our world," Ban Ki-moon explained.
