Congratulations and encouragements to REPOFBAC
REPOFBAC was created on September 9, 1999 in Yaoundé, Cameroon as a result of the "Training and Co-operation programme on forest policies development in Congo Basin". This programme was initiated by Central African countries and set up with the support of the European Union and the World Bank Institute (EU/WBI). After a decade of functioning, REPOFBAC is proud to have established a real collaboration based on exchange among key people (experts) of each country of the Congo Basin. There are about 204 members who receive their messages directly and more than a hundred who receive theirs indirectly. These experts, well known in their respective governments and countries, do exchange information continuously through fax, telephone and email. Moreover they have the capacity of influencing simultaneously their governments on important issues and in situations of environmental emergency.
REPOFBAC took actively part to the national meeting for the preparation of the civil society's input to the revision of laws and implementation texts. This meeting held last August 17 - 19, was one of the most recent activities of the organization. Today, REPOFBAC widely opens up to external experts inputs and says welcome to new members!
