In November 2-4, 2009 the second International Conference of Central Africa members of Parliament was held in Bata, Equatorial Guinea, on the topic: "Renewable Natural Resources and Human Development: Constraints and appropriateness's of climate changes in the Congo Basin ". More than ten delegations made up of parliamentarians from COMIFAC countries, international organizations CEFDHAC networks, experts of the sub-region etc. were part of it.
One of the main objective of the conference was to draw up the state of the parliamentarians' role in the effective implementation of the secured financial mechanism of COMIFAC and develop REPAR's position on the climatic regime post Kyoto and the REDD which negotiation is in progress. During three days characterized by many communications in plenary, participants listened to talks around five main points namely: climate change, harmonization of the forest and environmental policies, environmental challenges, economy and conservation of biodiversity, governance of REPAR.
At the end of intensive work, participants adopted a message called "MESSAGE OF BATA", articulating themselves around 18 projecting points. In a general way, the constructive discussions and the concrete results of this conference confirmed the important contribution that the REPAR wants in the attempt to enhance and secure the implementation of the good governance for sustainable and efficient Central African forest ecosystem management.
