African Women's Network for Sustainable Development (REFADD): REDD+ related Gender and Climate Change Adaptation Strategy in Central Africa
Please download a copy of the Executive Summary
This Strategy applies transversely at regional level and aims to provide guidance on reducing inequalities between women and men with respect to the REDD + process and climate change adaptation in developing countries and at sub regional level.
The strategy’s objective is to promote the inclusion of gender mainstreaming and the effective involvement of women in the REDD + process and climate change adaptation in the COMIFAC region.
With reference to international, regional and national policies and COMIFAC’s and partners’ commitments to adopt appropriate measures for the implementation of REDD + and climate change adaptation, the strategy proposes priority actions for the equitable participation of women and men in the processes, taking into account the roles, knowledge, needs and interests differentiated between the two sexes.
