Malabo, 10 April 2017. The exchange meeting took place in the hall of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Forestry and was chaired by Dr. Maximiliano FERO MEÑE, a Lecturer at UNGE, Mrs Lydie NGO BOUM ép. NGUIMBOUS, Technical Assistant in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation at the PREREDD+ Project, representing the PREREDD+ Regional Coordinator and Prof. FONTON Christmas, Mission Head for project sub-component 2b.
The main purpose of the meeting was to introduce the project to the scientific community of the countries involved in PREREDD+. More specifically, it aimed to:
- inform participants on the objectives and expected outcomes of the project at national and regional level in connection with international climate change negotiations;
- present project accomplishments and results achieved at national and regional level, highlighting key steps taken in developing allometric equations;
- The scientific community’s involvement in developing allometric equations and calculating forest carbon stocks at country level.
