PACEBCO-Environmental centers under construction to strengthen research, ecological monitoring, and improve development and management of protected areas in the Congo Basin.
Construction work is well advanced on the five (5) environmental centers to be established as part of implementation of PACEBCo in all landscapes sites concerned. The construction sites of these environmental centers are (i) Eala in Congo (Télé-LacLake Tumba Landscape), (ii) Lomako in the DRC (Maringa Lopori Wamba Landscape ), (iii) N'Sork in Equatorial Guinea (Monte Allen - Monts de Cristal Landscape ), (iv) Lwiro in the DRC (MTKB Landscape ), (v) Bomassa in the Congo (TNS Landscape). The Ecological centers are being raised to promote research, scale-up local natural resources, knowledge and know-how in the target landscapes of the Program.
