OFAC-Survey for the Observatory of Parks and Reserves of Central Africa
Local and national managers of protected areas (PA) in Central Africa, similar to their international technical and financial partners, all need information simultaneously available to each other.
To allow for information exchange while helping in decision-making, these actors are supporting the development of the "Observatory of Protected Areas (PA)" which is usually found mid-way between all actors involved at regional level.
In this connection, the observation of protected areas in the COMIFAC member countries has been entrusted to OFAC, supported by RAPAC, which itself receives support from an ad hoc program of the so-called ACP countries (Africa-Carribean-Pacific) and the European Union, called BIOPAMA (implemented by IUCN and JRC)...
As part of its efforts to track and share knowledge on Protected Areas, OFAC in collaboration with RAPAC and the BIOPAMA initiative are conducting a survey. The aim is to collect the characteristics of queries to be formulated in order to optimize the observation of Protected Areas.
