"Survey " what do you ask to OFAC ?

The survey conducted by OFAC-COMIFAC and RAPAC, with BIOPAMA’s assistance, on the Protected Area sector's expectations of the Regional Observatory was a success: more than 160 survey forms were filled out by a wide variety of actors!

Based on these intermediate findings summarized in the attached document, the team plans to plug some gaps identified in the sampling in the coming month : there is a need for better representation of riparian actors of protected areas and national opinion leaders and to this end they will need to fill out a few more survey forms by visiting this pagehere.

So if you are a leader in your country’s cultural, economic or political arena and are interested in nature, please reply via category 3 of the first survey question! If you work in the area of forestry, mining, agro industry, or are a traditional chief, please reply via Category 2 ! And if you are officials in charge of this matter at the Headquarters, please reply via Category 1.

Development and institutionalization of a PAFC certification system for the Congo basin: opening of the second public consultation on Sustainable Forest Management Certification Standard, 23 May 2020 - 22 June 2020

These efforts go hand in hand with ensuring continued responsible management of natural resources and preventing unsustainably and illegally sourced forest commodities. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, forest-monitoring organisations Observatoire de la Gouvernance Forestière (OGF) and Réseau des observateurs indépendants des ressources naturelles (RENOI) are set to carry out COVID awareness-raising in at-risk forest areas, and will also assess COVID’s impact on forest management and governance commitments under the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI). Across the Congo Basin, fears that a proper lack of oversight may put forests and forest peoples in danger are looming despite emerging initiatives.
