Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Mr. ldriss Deby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad, Head of State, the Special Conference of Ministers of the Africa Wildlife Conservation Organization (OCFSA) took place in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad on 28 July 2017.
The conference was hosted by the Government of the Republic of Chad, in collaboration with the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) through the Central Africa Biodiversity Conservation Programme - Protecting Central Africa’s elephants (PCBAC-SEAC), funded by the African Development Bank (ADB).
The high-level session was preceded from 25 to 26 July 2017 by the technical segment. The following member countries took part in the deliberations: Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, the Central African Republic and Chad. Attending in observer capacity were representatives of Angola, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Sao Tomé and Principe.
