Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park Monthly update April 2020
Dear friends, colleagues and supporters,
At a time when many countries are beginning their gradual deconfinement and when there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon of returning to normal life, I wanted to share with you some good news that also fills us with hope for the future of the Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park.
Indeed, WCS, the Congo Conservation Company (CCC) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the Congolese government, have just officially launched a new four-year project aimed at developing ecotourism in NNNP. Over the next four years, this new project will aim to develop the first professionally managed tourism concession in the PNNN, build two new ecolodges to welcome visitors and create new tourism products. The communities neighbouring the Park will also benefit as this project will accompany a community-based tourism project in Bomassa. From now on, our monthly newsletter will include a section dedicated to this project.
Have a good week and, as always, stay safe
