AICED Report- Harnessing agroecology to combat climate change in Virunga National Park

AICED is implementing an initiative entitled "Introducing locals to Agro-Ecology by Adapting Family Farming to Climate Change to foster soil management and protection of the Virunga National Park’s Ecosystems " in the Kibumba settlement, North Kivu Province, DR Congo "in order to benefit peasant farming communities living in the vicinity of the PNVi, who are adversely affected by climate changes observed in this area”. At this stage in our pilot activity, we have noticed that:
- Members of all communities (women and men, state authorities, community leaders) have taken ownership of the project’s breeding and reforestation activities at all levels.
