WWF-TDR: Analysis of the Agricultural Cooperative Model Proposed by the Graine Programme.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is looking for a national consultant to carry out a study on the agricultural model implemented by the Graine programme in Gabon. Complete applications must be submitted by 6 January 2020.
The main objective is to carry out a study of the socio-economic and environmental impact of the agricultural cooperative model proposed as part of the GRAINE project.
Specific objectives include:
- To synthesize bibliographical information related to the existing cooperative models in Gabon and the GRAINE programme;
- To make a SWOT analysis of existing cooperative models in Gabon;
- To evaluate the socio-economic and environmental impact of the model proposed by the Graine programme;
- To propose possible recommendations to improve the model.
Duties of the Consultant
The Consultant shall:
- Consult and analyze documents on the Graine Programme and other documents relevant to the study;
- Develop a criteria grid for analyzing the agricultural cooperative model proposed by the programme;
- Analyze (SWOT - Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) the model;
- Consult with relevant stakeholders including the Direction Générale de l’Agriculture (DGA), Direction Générale du Développement Rurale (DGDR), FAO, Institut Gabonais d’Appui au Développement (IGAD), SOTRADER, IDRC Africa, KEVA Initiative, a cooperative from each existing model, etc.;
- Propose the model, as well as recommendations and adjustments;
- Submit an interim report presenting all the expected results of the study;
- Co-host (with WWF) a half-day workshop to present preliminary findings to stakeholders.
- Submit the final report after the workshop.
