New manager at the helm of the GIZ support project to COMIFAC
Nkolo Martial, an Environmental economist will be taking the lead role in managing the GIZ regional COMIFAC support project starting from early August 2017. Following a stint in the private sector, including at the Bureau of Studies and Business, Martial joined the GIZ in 2008 as part of the Support program to the Forest and Environment Sectoral Program ( ProPSFE) in which he respectively held the positions of Technical Advisor responsible for Technical Operational Units and public-private partnerships (2008 - 2010) of the East-Cameroon chapter, technical advisor in charge of communal forestry and helped update Cameroon’s Rural Sector and Territorial Development Strategy. Prior to joining the GIZ COMIFAC support project, he had been serving since 2013 as the Regional Coordinator of the GIZ/ProPFEin the southwest (Support Program for the implementation of the forest-environment component of the rural Sector Development Strategy).
Nkolo Martial takes over the leadership of the project at a time when his partner - COMIFAC - has recently renewed its management team as the organisation continues to face major challenges. While he faces a daunting task, he will nonetheless be receiving a project which boasts a close-knit and experienced team, which is primed to throw its weight behind him as he tackles the challenges that lie ahead.
