GCF: Invitation for Thirteenth Round of Application for Accreditation as an Observer Organization to the Green Climate Fund.

GCF_NOTIF_2017_03_-_Invitation_for_13th_Round_of_Application_

In line with the Governing Instrument for the Green Climate Fund (the GCF) and the Rules of Procedures of the Board, the Co-Chairs in consultation with the Board, invite accredited observer organizations to the seventeenth meeting of the Board of the Green Climate Fund, to be held in July 2017.

Following the GCF’s Governing Instrument and Rules of Procedures of the Board, which encourage accredited observer organizations to designate representatives to attend meetings of the Board, the Co-Chairs of the GCF Board invite civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector organizations (PSOs), and international entities (IEs), wishing to obtain observer status, to apply for accreditation.

Applications for accreditation as an observer organization should be submitted by Tuesday, 9 May 2017, 18.00 KST (UTC+09.00) to the following address: observers@gcfund.org.

Forest defenders on the COVID-19 frontline stand ready to assist the global EU response – Fern

These efforts go hand in hand with ensuring continued responsible management of natural resources and preventing unsustainably and illegally sourced forest commodities. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, forest-monitoring organisations Observatoire de la Gouvernance Forestière (OGF) and Réseau des observateurs indépendants des ressources naturelles (RENOI) are set to carry out COVID awareness-raising in at-risk forest areas, and will also assess COVID’s impact on forest management and governance commitments under the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI). Across the Congo Basin, fears that a proper lack of oversight may put forests and forest peoples in danger are looming despite emerging initiatives.
