Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme making progress
SONGDO, 3 July 2015 – The Green Climate Fund’s developing country partners are showing keen interest in the initiatives being carried out under the Fund’s Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme, reflected in the 74 readiness requests now in hand. Of these, nine proposals have been finalized for a total of USD 2.5 million in financial support (from Comoros, the Dominican Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, the Federated States of Micronesia, Rwanda, Thailand, and Togo).
The readiness activities of the nine countries will build the capacities of their respective national designated authorities (NDAs) or focal points, and help them prepare strategic frameworks to engage with GCF, including through country programmes.
