Durban (South Africa), 7 - 11 September 2015
"Forestry can no longer operate in isolation. It is an integral part of communities and landscapes and a vital component of sustainable development at all levels.
The XIV World Forestry Congress (WFC) will provide a unique venue for bringing forestry into the mainstream."
For the first time ever, Africa is hosting the World Forestry Congress, the most important and inclusive gathering of the global forest community. Under the aegis of FAO of the United Nations and the host country, the congress gathers every six years.
2,000 participants have already registered. The debates are open to people from all countries, regions and walks of life, with a view to ensuring that everyone shares the same vision and strategy for the sustainable future of forests and forestry.
