TRAFFIC International and WWF jointly organized a "Regional Awareness and Capacity Building Workshop Towards FOCAC 2018", which took place in Nairobi, Kenya during 19-20 June 2018. The main purpose of the workshop was to sensitize as well as build the capacity of African countries in their preparation for and engagement in the FOCAC 2018 Ministerial Conference and Heads of States and Governments Summit to be held in Beijing, China in September 2018.
In the view of many of the participants, the workshop was a great success because there was active engagement by all the delegates coming from government agencies as well as civil society.
The workshop participants came up with a number of important recommendations regarding preparation for as well as engagement with the FOCAC platform by African countries and regional bodies.
