The Convergence Plan outlines intervention strategies for Central African countries and other stakeholders in the field of conservation and sustainable management of forest ecosystems in the sub-region. The first edition of the convergence plan (2005-2014) was adopted in February 2005 during the Second Summit of Central African Heads of State on conservation and sustainable management of tropical forests.
In the face of developments and issues arising in the sub-region’s Forests and Environment sector, the COMIFAC Council of Ministers in 2010 instructed the Executive Secretariat to update the Convergence Plan. This was the context for the revision of the Convergence Plan based on a participatory, inclusive, iterative approach both at the national and sub-regional levels.
