Program for the Promotion of Certified Logging (PPECF) holds seventh Decision-making and Steering Committee Meeting (CDO)
Douala-Cameroon, 19th-20th March 2019-the 7th Decision-making and Steering Committee Meeting of the Program for the Promotion of Certified Logging (PPECF) took place at the Sawa Hotel. The meeting was attended by close to thirty people representing the following entities: the Executive Secretariat of the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC), the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Financial Cooperation (KfW), research organizations such as the Center for International Cooperation in Agronomic Research for Development (CIRAD), the Center for Research and Action for Sustainable Development in Central Africa (CERAD), the Secretariat for Environmental Assessment in Central Africa (SEEAC) , conservation organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), private sector associations such as the International Technical Tropical Timber Association (ATIBT) through the Fair and Precious brand, the public and private sector through the Project to Support Gabon's Forestry and Wood Sector (PAFFB), the Cameroon Wood Industry Group (GFBC), the Union of Industrial Loggers and Land Use Planners of Gabon(UFGA), Wood Trade (LCB), Bois de Franche Comté (BFC), environmental labels such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Non-Governmental Organizations such as the Support Service for Local Initiatives Development (SAILD), ecological foundations and associations such as Earthworm, Forêt et Développement Rural (FODER), the Center for Environment and Development (CED), certification firms notably Bureau Veritas, Consulting firms such as PROSYGMA, Terre Environnement et Aménagement (TEREA), and the Program Management Unit (CgP) run by the ECO Consult- Oréade Brèche consortium.
The CDO session aimed to take stock of the first year of the second phase of the PPECF, lay down the guidelines for the second year running from January to December 2019, explain the SROI analysis of the program and show the impact on change achieved through the main monitoring indicators in order to validate through a question-and-answer session, the continuation and envisaged methodological changes to the program and budget estimate for 2019.
