The Congo Basin at COP 13 - Side event rallied around progress towards implementation of NAGOYA Protocol on ABS in Central Africa
Cancun (Mexico) - A side event to the Conference of the Parties (COP) 13 of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was held under the theme "Progress towards implementation of the Nagoya Protocol on ABS in Central Africa: Challenges, opportunities and prospects".
The session was organized by the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) in collaboration with GIZ, JICA and UNEP-DELC and moderated by the CBFP Facilitator, Mr Anders Henriksson.
Following presentations by the COMIFAC countries on progress towards implementing the Nagoya Protocol on ABS in their respective countries, Mr. Satoshi NIMURA from the JICA Support Project to COMIFAC recalled the potential of bio-exploration in Central Africa: Report on scientific progress.
