Towards better COMIFAC knowledge management
Mbankomo-Cameroon-03-05 July 2019_ The restricted technical workshop on developing COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy was launched today at the Dajoli Hotel. It drew close to twenty participants including the Consultant responsible for developing COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy, Experts from GIZ’s Regional Project to Support COMIFAC, the RIOFAC Project, the COMIFAC Executive Secretariat and the Cameroon CNC representative.
The meeting was held for the purpose of developing COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy. Its specific objectives will be to: (I) gain a common understanding of the concept of a knowledge management strategy;(ii) validate the structure of COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy; (iii) flesh out the different sections of COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy structure; (iv) propose a plan for implementing COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy while integrating methods and tools; (v) develop a roadmap for finalizing and validating COMIFAC’s knowledge management strategy.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr Gervais Gervais Itsoua Madzous, Deputy Executive Secretary of COMIFAC and Mr. Samuel Makon, Regional Adviser for the Sustainable Management of Congo Basin Forests Programme.
In his opening statement, Mr Makon highlighted the numerous knowledge tools (databases, websites, reports, guidelines, manuals, guides, etc.) available to COMIFAC and said there was a need to capitalize on the tools in order to increase visibility and improve decision-making.
