COBAM-CIFOR-PACEBCo:“ Au Rythme des saisons (Following the changing seasons)“: Show no. 1-Climate change: myth or reality?

A platform for radio communication on the fight against climate change in and with  Congo Basin forests - Please listen to the show: "Climate Change: Myth or Reality?"

Kindly listen to the show: Show no. 1"Climate Change: Myth or Reality?"

Lack of information on climate change and its ties with forests is a reality in Central Africa. In contrast, at global level, climate change-related processes and concepts are evolving at such a fast pace that policymakers in Central Africa are finding it difficult to keep up. Furthermore, available information is often broadcast through fairly selective channels (articles in scientific journals, newsletters, website etc.), hence it does not always reach target populations. The radio, therefore, remains the most accessible channel, since it is available and inexpensive.

“Au Rythme des saisons” is a radio talk show, produced monthly by COBAM-CIFOR and broadcast on the national station, CRTV (Cameroon Radio and Television), a radio station whose wavelength spans the entire territory of Cameroon. Panellists are experts in their respective fields and are selected depending on the topic to be discussed, in order to air up-to-date information on climate change, forests and the Congo Basin. Through this channel, decision-makers and other stakeholders, local communities are afforded an opportunity to join discussions on issues relating to climate change and sustainable management of Congo Basin forests.
