The IUCN premises in Yaoundé, served as a venue for a high-level encounter between the CBFP and CEFDHAC regarding the platform’s current operations and possible ways of heightening CEFDHAC’s visibility to enlist financial partners’ support for CEFDHAC.
 
 

In attendance at the meeting were: the Sub Regional Coordinator of REJEFAC, the coordinator of REPALEAC, the REFADD Representative, the Representative of SEEAC and of the CPR president, the Representative of the Cameroon NF, the technical assistant to CEFDHAC, the Coordinator of the IUCN PF, the RERAC Coordinator, the CBFP Facilitator, the Deputy CBFP Facilitator and the CBFP Communications Officer.
 

Following hours of exchanges and discussions on the state of CEFDHAC’s operations and measures to improve CEFDHAC’s visibility, the participants came up with some recommendations, namely:

 
- Ensure inclusiveness of Cameroon CEFDHAC NF’s preparation  process and ensure participation of all stakeholders

- Organize preparatory meetings prior to holding the Cameroon NF

- Pool funding to organize Cameroon’s CEFDHAC NF (Regional REDD + project, GIZ and CBFP)

- Provide a  slot to highlight the achievements of national CEFDHAC networks and fora at the next CBFP meeting (facilitation team)

- Propose one or two major themes for training that will be conducted on the sidelines of the next CBFP (CPR CEFDHAC)

  After this key meeting, a roadmap was drawn up in a participative manner to ensure successful implementation of these recommendations.
