The Business of Conservation Conference, September 8-9, 2019. Kigali, Rwanda
Since we opened registration for the 2019 Business of Conservation Conference, the response has been overwhelming and spots are filling up very quickly! We hope you are as eager as we are to power Africa’s wildlife economy together. At BCC2019, we aspire to bring together doers who are actively driving benefit to both nature and people.
If you are such a doer, you may be wondering: “How can I actively participate in the event and tangibly build relationships?” There are 5 concrete ways you can do this:
Participate in Leopard’s Cove
Do you need investment to scale up your fledgling conservation business? Here's an opportunity to be coached, receive investment and resources to grow your conservation business. Apply for a hard-earned spot in our Leopard’s Cove and pitch your business to a panel of influential investors and philanthropists in front of the whole audience. Just like the TV series “Dragon’s Den” or “Shark Tank", if your pitch is compelling enough, you could potentially receive investment on the spot!
Take part in our private Deal room
Do you have an attractive conservation investment opportunity for Lionhearted investors? A mega conservation project to transform local communities? Are you looking for partners to take up a government concession? An innovative, commercially viable large scale conservation project that can increase wildlife numbers while creating jobs? Sign up to participate in intimate, private discussions with curated investors. We want BCC 2019 to be a place where concrete deals are done.
Make a commitment
Last year, nearly $500million in commitments to conservation were made at the conference. Are you inspired to take concrete action to foster economic development through conservation? Then we challenge you to make a tangible public commitment. Commitments will be tracked over the next year and progress updates shared at the 2020 gathering. This must be a new initiative or project that will make Africa's natural assets more abundant and enable its people to benefit from it. How does this work?
Make a commitment now
Fill this form to highlight a specific commitment you’d like to make. We will shortlist a diverse set of powerful commitments to share at the closing plenary. Please submit a maximum of one project/ idea per organisation or individual.
Make a commitment during the conference
Don’t have a tangible commitment yet? Don’t worry. During the conference, if you’re inspired to embark on a tangible project or strike a meaningful collaboration, you can proceed to the commitment desk during coffee breaks and meals to record your commitment.
Nominate a speaker
Do you know an expert with unconventional ideas about conservation? Someone with an idea worth sharing with the wider community that will make an impact on the business of conservation? Nominate them here as a speaker. You can also nominate yourself.
Propose a session
Is there a topic you think would be a great addition to BCC2019? A session or concept we should delve into? Share it with us and we will do our best to incorporate it in the conference’s agenda.
If you haven’t registered for the conference yet, you can still do it.
