The Network of Central African Protected Areas Has a New Chairman
Libreville (Gabon) - 15 February 2013–– RAPAC members met in two General Assemblies, the first being ordinary and the second extraordinary.
chaired by Mr. Samy Mankoto, RAPAC outgoing Chairman, the ordinary and extraordinary GAs deliberations were focused on: (1) listening to the moral report of RAPAC chairman , (2) validating the report and the evaluation of the resolutions of the GA held on 29 March 2012, (3) reading the report and validating the major decisions of the 22nd Session of the Board of Directors, (4) contributions from members and partners, (5) election the new RAPAC chairman and (6) the summary of the meeting.
following this intense and fruitful day of work, the election of Mr. Anatolio NDONG MBA as RAPAC chairman marked the apex of the ordinary General Assembly. He was chosen by 56.52 % of the members of the ordinary GA out of three candidates.
The recently elected chairman is currently the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea at the UN Permanent Mission
The Extraordinary General Assembly helped RAPAC members to amend the statutes and the by-laws of the Network. The main change was RAPAC legal statute which ceases to be an association governed by Gabonese laws to become a sub-regional NGO.
