Start of the Support Project for the Development of Continuing Training in the Forest-Woods Sector in Central Africa (Appui au Développement de la Formation Continue dans la Filière Forêt-Bois en Afrique Centrale -ADEFAC) - ATIBT
After the signature of the Financing Agreement CZZ2499 between AFD and RIFFEAC on 03 February 2020, the signature of a project management delegation agreement between RIFFEAC and ATIBT on 23 April 2020, and the recruitment of the Technical Implementation Team (TIT) in March 2020, the ADEFAC project effectively started on 1 April 2020.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the sustainable management of the forests of the Congo Basin, through the development of a continuous training offer for the forest-wood sector (upstream and downstream) in Central African countries.
Four countries are priority beneficiaries of the ADEFAC project: Cameroon, Congo, Gabon and DRC.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the start-up activities will be carried out from April to June 2020 by teleworking. The EET will have to develop, validate and make operational all the project management documents.
At the end of this 3-month start-up phase, EET will approach in each target country the private sector, administrations and training institutions to :
- Explain the objectives of the ADEFAC project;
- Explain how each stakeholder can participate in the project and discuss the needs of the stakeholders;
- Exchange to ensure a better integration of the project in the capacity building programmes for private actors of the forest-based sector that are already underway in the target countries.
