A global water crisis looms on the horizon and is fast approaching due to the exacerbating effects of global population growth and climate change in many parts of the world. More than 50 scientists from 20 countries collaborated on a global study of the links between forests, water, climate and humans.
The answer lies, at least in part, in paying more attention to forests. The relationships between forests, water, climate and human beings are complex, often overlooked and raise the question: What should be done in and with forests to secure the quality and quantity of water needed to ensure the health and sustainable well-being of forests and humanity?
