WWF Learning Session on Supplementing REDD+ with Biodiversity Payments - March 5

Please join us for the next WWF Forest and Climate Programme online REDD+ Learning Session on Wednesday, March 5at 10AM EST/1600 CEST.

Learning Session 21: Supplementing REDD+ with Biodiversity Payments

When: Wednesday, March 5, 10:00AM EST/1600 CET

What:   In this webinar, Jonah Busch, Research Fellow at Center for Global Development, discusses how an international REDD+ mechanism can be used to make payments for forests’ biodiversity as well. Paradoxically, under conditions consistent with emerging REDD+ programs, money spent on a mixture of carbon payments and biodiversity payments can incentivize the provision of greater climate benefits than an equal amount of money spent only on carbon payments.

A Q+A session will follow the presentation.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
