Invitation to Participate in the CIF 2014 Partnership Forum, Montego Bay, Jamaica

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) are pleased to announce and invite your participation in the CIF 2014 Partnership Forum in Montego Bay, Jamaica on June 23-24, 2014. The Forum will be co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank.

The CIF were established five years ago as an innovative response to the challenge of global climate change. Through collaborative partnerships, targeted investments, and a spirit of learning by doing, the CIF aims to trigger investments for action to mitigate and manage the effects of climate change. The CIF have taken root, and lessons and results are emerging as the CIF’s 48 pilot countries move from investment planning to implementation.

Every 18 months, the CIF convene a Partnership Forum to share lessons with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. Areas of strategic importance for the CIF are explored through a series of plenary and parallel sessions, as well as an interactive Knowledge Bazaar. The CIF 2014 Partnership Forum offers the global community the opportunity to come together to:

  • · Learn from the experiences of 48 countries in building low carbon and climate resilient economies

    · Share knowledge on what it takes to foster partnerships, mobilize investment, and achieve climate-smart development results

    · Network with over 400 policy-makers, entrepreneurs, practitioners, experts, and many others

As part of the Partnership Forum, a dedicated CIF Stakeholder Day on June 22, 2014 will bring together civil society, private sector, and indigenous peoples for interactive discussions and networking on the advances, challenges, and opportunities for stakeholder engagement in climate change programs.

An associated event, the UNFCCC’s Second Forum of the Standing Committee on Finance to be held on June 21-22, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, will also provide additional insight and discussion on “Mobilizing Adaptation Finance.”

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
