CASCADe Workshop (FFEM/ UNEP, Kinshasa DRC)

The Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Tourism of the Democratic Republic of Congo obtained the support from the CASCADe initiative (Carbon Credit for Agriculture, Silviculture, Conservation and Action against Deforestation) funded by the “Fonds Français pour l’Environnement Mondial” (FFEM) and coordinated by the United Nations Environment Program. This initiative offers a support to project sponsors who wish to mitigate their Green House Gas emissions in the scopes of agriculture, bioenergy and forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The aim of the initiative is involved these projects in the Clean Development Mecanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol or in the Voluntary Markets of Carbon. A workshop for project sponsors will be organized from the 24th to the 28th of September 2008 in Kinshasa. Three days will be dedicated to the different aspects of the Clean Development Mecanism and the Voluntary Markets of Carbon. Two days will be specifically dedicated to the projects of the participants. Project sponsors are kindly invited to contact as soon as possible ONF International which is in charge of the initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo in order to consider the possibility to get support from CASCADe and participate to the workshop.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
