Invitation Webinar - Meet the Governance, Environment and Markets Initiative GEM) Initiative at Yale

The Governance, Environment and Markets Initiative at Yale (GEM), in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Alumniportal Deutschland, presents the webinar series:

How can multilevel governance foster sustainable development? Linking knowledge and learning to practicable solutions

In 5 webinar sessions we will focus on how policy makers and strategists might draw on existing scholarly and practical efforts to address complex environmental challenges, such as deforestation and land use change, local land rights, and the interaction of the climate and forests regime and the agricultural sector.

 First Session: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 | 18:30h (UTC+1)

Solving deforestation through multi-level learning. The GEM approach to managing knowledge for policy in the global area.

Prof. Ben Cashore, Environmental Governance & Political Science, Yale University, and Director of GEM Professor will launch the series with an overview of the GEM idea. The focus of his talk will then turn to one of the most pressing global environmental problems: How can deforestation be solved through multi-level learning?

Rony Soerakoesoemah, Head, Initiative of ASEAN Integration (IAI) & Narrowing the Development Gap (NDG) Division, ASEAN Economic Community Department, ASEAN Secretariat, will provide a reflection on the presentation from a practitioner’s point of view.

This will be followed by an interactive Q&A session with the registered members of the webinar live session. Please find attached the invitation for our webinar series.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
