Organized by the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS)
In collaboration with the UNCCD Global Mechanism (GM), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Congo Basin Forests Partnership (CBFP)
The main objective of this side event is to share Central Africa experiences in the implementation of the UNCCD ten Year Strategy with the participants of UNCCD COP 10.
Program :
13:00-13:30 Political and institutional framework in favor of the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) in Central Africa by Mr. Martin TADOUM, Deputy of the Secretary of COMIFAC.
13:30-13:45 Environmental, Economical and Social impacts of Land Degradation assessment in Central Africa by Mr. Remy MUKONGO, Program Officer in charge of Forest Economy and Sustainable Management of ECCAS.
13:45-14:00 Progress of Alignment of the National Action Programs (NAPs) to the UNCCD ten Year Strategy in Central African Countries: lessons learned by Mr. Martial Agondogo, UNCCD National Focal Point of Gabon.
14:00-14:15 Development of the tools (Integrated Financing Strategy (IFS)/Integrated Investment Frameworks (IIF)) for the financial resources mobilization for the SLM in Central Africa by Dr. Christophe Bring, UNCCD National Focal Point of Cameroon.
