In line with the capacity building of beneficiaries of the project (staff of MINFOF, FINANCE, POLICE, GENDARMERIE and JUSTICE), the launching workshop which is scheduled from the 27th to the 28th November 2012, at Peninsula Plaza Hotel, Douala Cameroon will gather a hundred of diversified participants of the forestry sector. They will be notified on the activities of the above mentioned project, come up with proposals on training modules and share their expertise in the implementation of forestry regulations and the fight against illegal logging.

This workshop will also benefit from the participation of Law Officers (Judges) of Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Democratic Republic of Congo under the CARPE-USAID funding.

The workshop scheduled for November 30th 2012, at Destinées Hotel, Ebolowa Cameroon, will focus only on MINFOF staff, with the aim of permitting them to benefit from the training of trainers designed for this purpose, to share their opinions and views to well address the forest law enforcement to combat illegal logging.

This project was designed to contribute for the improvement of the governance and transparency of timber logging and trade in Cameroon and thus to support the resolution of problems related to unsustainable timber harvest, weak forest law enforcement and illegal timber trade. Under the administrative supervision of MINFOF, the project is funded by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and executed by TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
