UNEP: 4th Special Session of African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN)

The Fourth Special Session of AMCEN will take place from 12 - 16 September 2011 at the Centre International des Conferences de Bamako (CICB) in Bamako, Mali. This will be composed of an experts’ level segment from 13 to 14 September 2011 and a ministerial segment from 15 to 16 September 2011. This will be preceded by a meeting on International Environmental Governance (IEG) on 12 - 13th September 2011.

The main objective of the Fourth Special Session of AMCEN is to provide a platform for African countries to further consolidate and enhance Africa’s common negotiating position for the UNFCCC Cop17 to be held in November to December 2011. The special session will also provide an opportunity for Ministers to discuss the Climate Green Fund and Africa’s preparations for Rio+20 including the transitioning towards a Green Economy and the need to strengthen international environmental governance in the context of institutional framework for sustainable development.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
